The Right to Photograph
Earlier this week my family and I were camping at Capt Ayre Lake near Provost, Alberta. I was parked on the shore at dusk with my Canon 7D and the 100/400 hanging off the front when a husky fellow came up to challenge me:
“Are you taking pictures of other people’s kids?”
“Yes. Yes I am.”
“That’s against the law.”
“No, it’s not. We’re on public property, there’s no expectation of privacy in
